Garden Fairies respond to 2005, a year of wild waves and wicked weather.
Our members, Kiaralinda and Todd had a very personal reason to want to help victims of the Tsunami disaster. They were on a plane, having just left Phuket, Thailand when the 2004 Tsunami hit. The Garden Fairy network back in Florida kicked in immediately, calling and emailing around to find their current location. Our group exhaled a collective sigh of relief, when we received an email from Kiaralinda, who said they were safe and sound having just arrived in India.
Sunday March 27, 2005 K &T with the help of the Garden Fairies hosted
a benefit for Tsunami victims at their house in Safety Harbor including:
- Raffles of items they bought on their trip
- Three showing times of slides from trip
- Potluck Indian and Thai food

Experience taught us, it's not over until it's over.
Summer of 2005, for many of us in Florida was spent with one eye on
"The Weather Channel" at all times. Having dogged a string
of 2005 hurricanes, The Garden Fairies Benefit Team was spurred on to
help counter Katrina's wrath of unbelievable devastion. We jumped right
in, organizing the flock for our next benefit. We were
making flyers and posters named "Katrina
Hurricane Relief" when Rita developed. Experience taught us, it's not over
until it's over. So we settled on "Hurricane Relief" benefit, feeling
that should cover what ever came down the pike.

The weekend of the event proved to be as tricky to commit to, Wilma was threatening Tampa Bay! All eyes were on the "Weather Station" wondering if we should cancel and concentrate on batting our own hatches down.
Relief was felt once
again, when Wilma went south, allowing the show to go on (relief with an
unsettled feeling that our neighbors were getting hit).
Another good deed project of Todd and Kiaralinda with support of the Garden Fairies.
We are pleased to report this benefit raised $5000, with proceeds being split
