Seven Garden Fairy Pros

collaborate on work inspired by nature

"In Through the Outdoors" Garden Fairies show to be held at Clay & Paper Gallery

Ten months of collaboration to culminate at our show opening January 7th 2007!

We love doin' it together and thought, let's do a collaborative art show!

Many years of working together on Garden Fairy transformation events and community outreach projects has honed our ability to work together.

Our "makin' process" is truly a democrative process, no one has the title of queen. We all look forward to our weekly sessions, which have turned into much more than just getting ready for a show. It is an evolution of creative problem solving, enhancing discovery, trust and sharing.

We call our process, "creative collaborative doin's". Many of our pieces are multi-media collaborations, sometimes started by one individual and finished by others. As artists, it is not always easy to let go; either of control of a piece, or to acknowledge when it is done. Every member of the group has individual strengths, which we gladly share with other members.

"In Thru the Outdoors" Garden Fairy Pro Artists are: Patti Bacun, Shannon O'Leary Beck, Barbara Melby-Burhans, Rike Kallaugher, Kiaralinda, Heather Richardson & Siobhan Nehin. Shannon has taught us to better painters, Rike infuses the group with a sophisticated sense of style, Patti has taught us about 3D imagery and glass fusing, Kiaralinda pushes us to see things in a non-traditional way, Heather makes sure everyone is doin' it right and has provided the studio space, Barbara has provided clay sculpting instruction and advises the group on the biz of art retailing and Siobhan organizes the group as well as encouraging everyone to practice layering imagery when ever possible.

Meeting every Tuesday night since March 2006 and ending late December that same year, all the work is inspired by outdoor imagery. Not liking stiff rules, we have let the concept evolve, adjusting as we proceed.
